Last week (Thursday 29 June), Rochester and Strood MP Kelly Tolhurst attended the first Culture, Media and Sport oral questions of the new parliament and brought to the Ministers’ attention the growing creative industries based in Medway.
Kelly said, “During the last two years of meeting a whole host of businesses across Rochester and Strood, I was proud to see the number of budding technology businesses accelerate their journey to national success.
“One prime example of our local success is Dovetail Games, the creator of Flight and Train Simulator games, which is renowned across the globe. That is why I asked the Minister what plans he has to help our creative hubs like Medway develop and thrive over the exciting years ahead.”
Kelly was pleased that the Minister recognised that video games are an exciting area of growth within the creative industries sector with exports from across the country and that they will continue to be back by government.
Over the course of this parliament, Kelly hopes to meet more creative businesses and work with them to ensure they continue to grow, employ local and skilled people and deliver economic prosperity for the whole community.
