On Tuesday 12th September, I met with the Women’s Institute (WI) to hear about their River Action week across the country.
We all want our rivers to be healthy environments for our ecology, wildlife & us. That’s why I will continue to join with campaigners to push for further action from all those responsible.
On Wednesday 13th September, I have also had an opportunity to question the Secretary of State on the strengthened powers for the Environment Agency to fine companies like Southern Water to stop this practice.
There is also a local working group including all the key stakeholders and interested parties looking at local powers which could help with this issue.
