This month, Matthew Scott, Kent Police and Crime Commissioner, launched the consultation on his Police and Crime Plan for 2017 onwards.
This Plan will set the strategic policing and crime priorities for the next four years, and as the Police and Crime Commissioner, Mr Scott will then be able to hold the Chief Constable to account for delivery of these priorities.
The consultation survey is available until 2 December 2016 and can be accessed at https://www.kent-pcc.gov.uk/take-part. To ensure the best security and community care within our society, it is important to hear the views of residents on what the issues are and where the priorities should be.
The survey will allow allows people to rank the importance of issues in the Commissioner’s Six Point Plan, select matters that are relevant to their communities and give their view on policy ideas that have so far been suggested. Letters of representation that will inform the outcome of this consultation are also being warmly welcomed.
Given the number of policing issues we have had to deal with in recent years, from Operation Stack to illegal immigration and anti-drug trafficking, we all as Kent and Medway residents deserve to rely on a comprehensive and positive plan to tackle our security issues. I would encourage anyone with ideas or experiences to complete the survey and I will do my part in guaranteeing voices are carried forwards.
