Last week, Rochester and Strood MP, Kelly Tolhurst submitted a survey response to the public consultation on the new franchise for the South East rail network.
Kelly viewed the consultation and franchise renewal as an opportunity to deliver change where failures have been occurring for too long. The main points raised by Kelly are around regular delays, particularly at peak times, and the lack of information provided at the time. In addition, there are issues around overcrowded services and ticketing access at local stations. kelly states that there is demand for longer, reliable trains and a customer service that values the customer whose fares continue to rise.
