I am very pleased to announce new improvements to the Southeastern franchise which began to affect passengers last week.
Firstly, in order to reduce overcrowding on the morning trains into London, commuters will now benefit from an addition of sixty-eight extra carriages. These will be added onto existing services on all metro routes (particularly those travelling to Canon Street and Victoria Stations) so to ensure that the additional carriages can be enjoyed by the maximum number of commuters. I’m pleased that the changes will be taking place between now and November and so that passengers can benefit from an immediate improvement.
Secondly, a third of peak time trains will be lengthened, equating to a minimum of 5,000 additional seats for Southeastern customers. I am confident that the increase in seats will result in more comfortable journeys and better value for money. Indeed, I am dedicated to improving the efficiency of our rail services and am glad that Southeastern have finally listened to our grievances.
Overall I am very pleased with these changes as Southeastern’s sub-standard service has long been a concern of mine and look forward to enjoying the new changes.
